If you are going to check out a book or do some research at the brooklyn public library you’ll notice that the building is undergoing some major changes. There has been an expansion at the brooklyn public library located on grand army plaza.
First Take interviewed nine people about the expansion of the Brooklyn Public Library. Many thought it was a great idea, One visitor stated,”Expanding the library is a great idea , my daughter loves it and they have puppet shows for her”. It also offers many activities and programs for adults, as well as children.
HOWEVER, One angry visitor finds the expansion to be a nuissance. “It was a waste of tax-payers money,” Says the woman wo denied to give her name. “It was fine the way it was before. it looks nothing like the picture it was suppose to look like”. She says she has been a member of the library for 12 years and doesn’t think the change was necessary.
On the other hand, another consumer praised the library, and marked it as a chance for youths to gain their knowledge. “Most of our youth waste away their time not being educated,” says Lenny. “I think it’s a perfect opportunity for all ages.” Despite the visitors tax-payer problems, all the other visitors saw the bright side of what the museum can bring to the community.
“It’s really great,” said Tina, comes to the library for English-language tutoring. “I can participate in free programs, and it’s the best library in Brooklyn.” Cinty replied, “It’s the biggest in the area, and they have more books.” Many others agreed with Tina and Cinty. “It’s very enriching for everybody, and is a great idea for the library to be right near Prospect Park.”
The Library is located right by Prospect Park and also has an intriguing exhibit on the Civil War. The exhibit will discontinue on January 5th 2008. This exhibit was formed by the green-wood cementary and Brooklyn library.
