How Music Affects Fashion

Have you ever noticed that when ever a new song comes out, fashion changes? It’s funny actually how people’s fashion styles change according to the type of music that’s popular at the moment. Do you remember when the skirts with tights look came out?It was around the time when Avril Lavigne came out with “Girlfriend” and in her video she was wearing a skirt with tights. If you don’t remember that let’s take a look at Hip Hop, not to long ago, the typical male attire consisted of baggy jeans, an over-sized shirt, sneakers and maybe a fitted.

Recently certain looks have been seen everywhere largely influenced by these three big musical artists:

Kelis- DARING  (insert picture: http://popbytes.com/img/kelis-lilstar.jpg)

When the video “I’m Bossy” debuted revealing her new sleek and sassy A-symmetrical haircut, girls all over flocked to the nearest hair salon to get the new do. Seeing Kelis in her video with so much confidence and flare made girls feel like they too could do anything with this empowering hairstyle.

Rhianna- CHIC (insert picture: http://www.starpulse.com/pictures/2007/05/23/previews/Rhianna-ADB-011168.jpg)

As an up and coming pop star, Rhianna has morphed her look from long brown hair to a more edgy jet black style. The versitility of this style can make her look either sophisticated or sexy. The influence of her new do can be seen sported by teenage girls and women.

Kanye West- BOLD (insert picture: http://img169.imageshack.us/img169/6421/thegraduatelowresfy2.jpg)

Ever since his debut in the music world Kanye has been making impacts on fashion everywhere. His prep school look with sweater vests and unique sunglasses as opposed to the general white-T and fitted look, made young men realize that you don’t have to look hood to listen to Hip Hop.

Music is so much more than what’s playing on your playlists, its a trend setting field that keeps changing each day.
